Moreno Valley City Link

4th of July 2012

July 4th 2012
_______________________
As
we all know the 4th of July event for 2011 was CANCELLED due to "Budget Cuts" in City Finances.

Yes, many will say that the "City" could have re-allocated money from another fund, or simply not paid for certain "signs" or maybe not paid so much in certain "salaries", and yet others say that the local Chambers of Commerce should have done more, point is, it was cancelled.

The City Council along with City Staff have now decided to start a 4th of July Committee to come up with ways to generate the money needed to put on a fireworks show for 2012, along with a possible parade, and day of festival activities. We hope the committee of persons, five (5) appointed by the City Council, and five (5) appointed by the Parks Director will be able to come up with great ideas and be able to hit the ground running. They will need help though....

MVCityLink.com will work hand in hand with the newly formed committee to help raise the upwards of $50,000.00 dollars needed to hire an outside firm to put on a fireworks show for our residents in 2012.

So tuned on how you can help donate to your community!!

If you are interested in assisting, and/or helping to sponsor the July 4th 2012 event please contact us ASAP for details.

It's time that WE, as residents, and businesses come together to make sure that in 2012 the City of Moreno Valley has a Fireworks show, regardless of "budget issues"!
